Yesterday, Troy & I met his parents over in Seattle! It was probably one of my best trips across the Puget Sound yet. We started our adventure with a Fraiche Cup coffee and a ferry ride from Bremerton to downtown Seattle. We took some shots on the ferry & as we approached the city! It was the best day for pictures. The clouds looked so defined and illuminated – just beautiful! Aren’t Troy’s pictures breathtaking?

When we made it across the sound, we went on the Underground tour of Seattle. The city was originally built on muddy ground because it was so close to the sea level. After a fire wiped out the city, a new and improved Seattle was built after filling in one story of dirt, to raise up the city. 20 blocks of Seattle still has walkways & the first story of buildings underground. Does that sound confusing? Read more history about the city on the Underground Tour website.

Anxiously awaiting the tour. Behind me, a touring couple wearing matching jean jackets, red shirts and jeans. I thought they were cute:)

Below, a peek from under the city! Beautiful glass skylights from the city’s rebirth.

After the Underground Tour, we had the itch to see Seattle from a bird’s eye view. We took the elevators in the Columbia building up to the 73rd building to take a look! The Columbia building is twice the size of the space needle & only costs $3 dollars to ride to the top! What a deal! I highly recommend it if you are visiting the Emerald city!

After all of our touring, it was time for a little shopping therapy! Haha. We found a fun vintage shop below with a mixture of old and new. Great hats, purses and shoes!

We also stopped at anthropologie where I found a couple of options for my bridesmaid dresses. Which one are you rooting for?

And finally, I ended our trip feeling like Cinderella. I found my bride shoes! How exciting! I love Seattle for it’s incredible finds!

Paul - Nice shots… really nice city images… very HDR looking…!!

Jessica Logue - They are both so adorable!! I love the top details on dress #2 & the pop of yellow at the bottom! But the plaid of #1 is so cute & perfect for fall!

aimee - {a} : Such a thorough response! I agree. The dress is pretty killer in real life. Classic & fun. I appreciate your comment!

aimee - Thank you Tracy! So glad you checked it out!

Tracy - I was in Anthropologie today and I like #2 the best.

{a} - hi! i’ve never commented before and just stumbled across your blog! i know i don’t know you or your personal aesthetic… but i work at an anthro in california and would recommend the 2nd dress! i loooooove moulinette soeurs (the maker of the dress) for their fantastic fit and their details. that dress is a fun one to wear, for sure. and, i don’t know if you love this about the other one or not… or even noticed it… but i’m still undecided on that strange little pop of color in the back of the dress on #1. i do think it looks adorable on you in the picture, but will it be something that 25 years from now will still be somewhat classic? or will you cringe? because i love it now, but think about how it will translate in pictures to your children… or do you even care? ha… i have this discussion all the time in the fitting rooms, so i just wanted to pass it along to you for a bit more to think about! :)

Candice Parisi - Dress #2 for sure! It was amazing. I also agree with what Lindsay says about the picture your fiance took….unbelievable.

Naomi - I don’t know what the style of your wedding is going to be but I vote for #2. I love that yellow underskirt/petticoat!

brian wurzell - i like dress number uno!

Rhonda - i love the first one!

marina - i vote dress two.
p.s. i love that underground tour.

Blair Van Bussel – Blair Nicole Photography - I LOVE #2 , so much personality, and a little more formal than #1(but not too formal).

Lindsay Pruitt - I vote dress #1! I love it!

Ps. That first picture of seattle is beyond amazing! It needs to be framed and displayed!!!

Troy Grover - I vote for dress number 1
