DIY With Love

This morning I decided to take on a DIY project – some much deserved Thank You cards for our wedding vendors!

Above: I crafted this card with paper card stock, two fun patterns, a hole punch, some string, some dried grass and a wooden bead. I added a special touch on the inside from our wedding invitations (designed by my sister Promise Tangeman), a cheery little red strawberry. I had the amazing Carissa from JL Designs in mind when putting this one together, as she did an INCREDIBLE job with our florals and decor for our big day.

Above: These two cards were also created on card stock & decorated with an assortment of things. I cut the red Strawberry our of our wedding invitation to send to Stacy Emmett at Strawberry Farms. I securd the strawberry & fun pattern with string running through two hole punches. The next card was created for Elysium Producitons a HUGE thank-you to them for such a fantastic job on our wedding video. I used two ribbons from gifts, a cut out from a wedding card, a fun patterned paper & some string.

I’m a Newlywed!

Ahhh! I’m married! These last few weeks I have been away from my blog, prepping for that big day. It was amazing to see all of the planning and hard work come together. A special thank you to our amazing team: Robert Evans for a classy wedding photo shoot, JL Designs for creating florals and decor more beautiful than we could have imagined, Elysium Productions for seamlessly capturing our day on film, Jennifer Whalquist for coordinating every detail – we couldn’t have done it without you, Promise Tangeman – Wurzell for being an amazing maid of honor & doing my “bride hair,” Erin Murphy for flawlessly doing my makeup & calming my spirits, John Sterns for giving me chills when singing Divine Romance in our ceremony, Kurt Hunter for singing our beautiful first dance song & for setting the mood at dinner, Upstart for being such a classy energetic band that everyone raved about, Katie Townley for baking our delicious bride and groom cake, and last but not least – Corey Jones for being our backbone through this whole process & setting up the MOST amazing photo booth I have ever seen! I couldn’t be more greatful to all of you! Thank you all SOOO much, we feel undeserving of the many ways you have blessed us!

I love the UPS…

especially when they bring special deliveries like my INVITATIONS! So exciting to actually see them in full life and color. Today, me and Troy have the job of addressing all of them! A big day ahead of us! Also, our invitations are featured on wedding chicks today, pretty exciting, huh?

Troy snapped a few pictures as I was opening our invitations with my parents last night!

That tastes good too!

Be prepared…that hardest thing about tasting your wedding food is that everything tastes so good! I am so glad we went hungry! They gave us a feast at Strawberry Farms & it was such a fun experience. Troy, his dad and my aunt were able to join in on the deliciousness too. As we passed around the plates the decisions became harder and harder. A platter of hors d’oeuvres, four kinds of salads, four different styles of chicken, and four side dishes. I am glad we brought a collaborative team because we just kept saying, “that one tastes good too!” Don’t you love the fun choices in life?

Invites / It’s official!

My sister finished my invites yesterday! I am so excited. The wedding definitely feels more real. I can’t wait to see them in person. We’re planning on mailing them out when we go home to Seattle next week. Check out my sister, Promise’s full post!

drum roll please.

This week Troy & I have gotten so much wedding planning done! It is very exciting! We had our tasting at Strawberry Farms where we grazed on some amazing food. Let me tell you, so good. We also had a few errand days while his dad was in town to tie up some loose ends. Three things I am MOST looking forward to for our wedding!

1. Invites. My sister Promise Tangeman is designing our invitations! She has sent me over a few drafts & they look better than I had ever imagined! Can wait for their big release!

2. Venue. I feel so inspired by our venue! I absolutly love chocolate covered strawberries, so when I found Strawberry Farms, I knew it was a perfect fit. The staff is amazing & they make planning a wedding simple. I’ve decided that a “vintage strawberry” look will be part of our theme, and I am so excited to see it come together!

3. Dessert. Troy and I decided that we’re a little caked out. Instead of having cake at our reception – we thought it would be fun to incorporate a little something special from where we live. Balboa Bars are famous in Newport Beach. If you’ve never heard of them you just might need to venture down this way to try one! Yummy vanilla ice-cream hand dipped in chocolate and smothered in sprinkles or nuts!
