Polyvore – has become one of our new FAV sites! You can create custom collages using actual merchandise & products you find online! The Polyvore site is extremely helpful in creating inspiration boards for your wedding because each image saves the description, pricing and link from where it was found. Perfect for sending to bridesmaids right? Check out this episode’s easy tutorial & get inspired to create your own Polyvore!

Sixteen teams contested in the “modern” themed challenge. Each team was given a budget of $150 for the centerpiece which had to be made of industrial materials, paper or fabric as an alternative to a floral arrangement. We decided on a modern glam theme & used industrial & paper materials to accomplish our look. Each paper shade was constructed with chicken wire, spray painted parchment paper & lots of patience!

The incredibly talented Jasmine Star photographed all of the table scapes entered in the Utterly Engaged design challenge. You can view the other tables and event happenings featured in the Utterly Engaged magazine. We were so honored to receive editor’s choice in their latest issue! So sorry I haven’t been blogging as usual. We took a trip out to Omaha last week for a late wedding reception with Troy’s family, then busily began designing for the Utterly Engaged party, celebrated my Birthday on Friday & then traveled out to Palm Desert for a relaxing getaway! All of that to say, I am finally home & dreaming up my next projects!

I took some pictures with my new camera of Omaha’s wintry trees.

We shot engagement photos for an adorable couple in Omaha.

Fresh flowers & a new spring purse were given to me on my Birthday from Troy :)

We witnessed the calm after the storm in Newport Beach.

And then laughed so hard at my friend Billy’s take on the recent weather!!

Last week, I had my friend Lindye Galloway over to help me with wedding crafts. She is a very creative & inspiring friend, the same one in fact who created that amazing suitcase chair I recently featured. I had seen some images online of a Strawberry Farms wedding, where the couple made their initials out of twigs & hung them on the barn doors. I loved that touch & was inspired to create some of my own! I bought a few bundles of twigs, some wire, and red berries (or do-dads as I would call them), & we got to work! Lindye was really the craftsman behind this project & I absolutely love they way the turned out!

With weddings, photo shoots & showers of our own, we have been on the move! I love to travel, I really do. I love it so much in fact, that I have started my very own collection of vintage suitcases. In college, my roommate Lindye Galloway made the cutest suitcase chair! She was the inspiration behind my ever-growing pile of suitcases, in the hopes of them becoming something more!

Here are a few pictures of her suitcase chair in our former dorm room!

I love the vintage paisley fabric Lindye found at a thrift store & the creative way she used the inside pocket as a pillow! Lindye, you are amazing! Best suitcase chair I have seen & super comfy I might add! Probably one of my favorite thinking spots in college. Boy I miss those days!
