April Yay Nays

1. YAY to the KIA SORENTO 2011: For the past couple of months, Troy & I have been car shopping for a new SUV. On the top of our list so far? The new Kia Sorento! I absolutely LOVE the new look, adorable branding AND ten year/100,000 mile warranty! The commercials give me such a happy feeling!!

2. YAY to YOUNG HOUSE LOVE blog: A good majority of my TV time is spent watching home shows. I am in awe of any home renovation show, most recently Curb Appeal. There is just something exciting about seeing the potential in something and bringing it to life. I came across this adorable blog called Young House Love, of a couple who renovates their home room-by-room. I was so impressed with their design abilities and creativity! So motivating for anyone’s first home fixer-upper.

3. Yay to KNITTED HEADBANDS: This past weekend I spent time visiting family in Colorado. I went skiing for the first time in Vail & fell in love with the mountain-y vibe. As a little souvenir I bought a knitted button-up headband. I LOVE it! It kept my ears warm but looked a little more stylish than the average beanie. I might even be able to wear it into Spring :) Below are a few shops on Etsy that have some CUTE CUTE ones! I just had to throw the last one of the scarf in – Now that is gorgeous!!

1. NAY to TOYOTA OF ORANGE: While car shopping a couple of weeks ago, Troy & I decided to stop into the Toyota of Orange dealership. We always hear this catchy jingle on the radio “No You won’t get a lemon…at Toyota of Orange.” We spent the afternoon with a dealer who kept referring to Troy as “bro,” and left feeling belittled by a manager who thought he needed to draw us pictures of everything he was explaining. I’m pretty sure we know what leases and down payments are. But thank you for treating us like we’re in elementary. I’m still a fan of Toyota – but am pretty sure that the dealers are the lemons at Toyota of Orange.

2. NAY to SHARING COFFEE: Since our early dating years, going out for coffee has been a staple date for me at Troy. Troy is always up for sharing a cup – as he see’s it, a venti is only $0.25 more than a grande…but I argue that there is just something about holding your own cup. I love how it warms up my hands – and the freedom I have to sip as slowly as I will. Seems there is still a little free-willed spirit in me! Am I all alone on this?

3. NAY to PLASTIC SURGERY: Since Heidi Montag released the newest version of her self, I have felt so unsettled. I thought she was SUCH a beautiful girl – before she released the first version. It makes me so sad to think that she can never turn back. Her mom & dad will never get to see the true Heidi that they created. What are good looks if everyone knows they aren’t the real deal? Don’t get me wrong – I think it’s important to take car of yourself – but in ways that enhance your natural features. Heidi I hope you the best, but I miss the real.

Brittney - yay to these knitted headbands and beanies… they are so cute!

aimee - Alex – So funny & so true!

Alex Jacobson - I completely agree with you abotu the coffee. It can take me all morning or even into early afternoon to drink my cup and if I shared… I wouln’t get more than a sip or two before it’d be all gone.

Plus for me it is as much about the aroma and warmth on my hands! Totally in agreement, Alex

Tracy - I totally agree with you about plastic surgery. Heidi looked better before the surgery!

aimee - Haha me too DJ!! They are such happy little guys :)

DJ - I love sock monkeys! I have one of those guys on my camera bag!

:)

aimee - Rachel! CUTE I love that turquoise!! I have that same one in a mustard color! So fun!!

Rachel Durban - I SO have the turquoise knitted headband! :) I love it!

aimee - Lovie. So funny! Troy & I liked your comment! It’s so true – coffee is one of those non-shareables!

Lovie Wurzell - Hahaha…take it from an ol’ married lady…there are some things you need not share and coffee is one of them. I really think it is a guy thing. They make you feel like your being selfish, but in reality they are being a little cheap. hahaha So ENJOY without guilt Aimee:)

Heather - Sharing coffee is a NO-GO! Mike ALWAYS wants me to get a larger size so he can have some… but i am a sipper, he is a gulper! His is gone before i’ve even finished 1/3 of my coffee! If we share, I don’t get my fair share! lol…

p.s. it seems we’re connected again. Enjoy Brad and Megan’s wedding this weekend! :)
