All I want for Christmas is you!

We just got back from our tropical honeymoon & rushed back to put up our tree! It felt like we were on summer vacation but were reminded it’s holiday time as soon as we landed! We found a cute chubby little tree that fits perfect in the front window of our beach house & this vintage wedding ornament at a garage sale this fall! I love it! Have any fun traditions for a newly married couple? We’re open to some new experiences this season!

aimee - Aww that would be really special. I love hand-made gifts! Thanks for passing on your tradition :)

Alex Jacobson - Aimee, I work with your Mom at CKA and love following your blog. My Mom started a tradition when she was first married. She makes an ornament every year and gives them to the parents, aunts and uncles and other extended family members. Last Christmas was my first year married and I decided to carry on the tradition. I made a snowman out of tongue depressers.

I love unpacking my Mom’s ornatments. Some years you can tell she was poorer (used the metal ends from frozen juice canisters) and other years the ornaments pertained to something in their life.

This year I am making wish lists on wodden spools. You are so artsy and crafty – I bet you could come up with some special ones and family members look forward to getting their ornament every year!

Blessings, Alex

aimee - So cute!! I love that idea :) Me and my sister used to get to choose an ornament every Christmas – but it’s a fun surprise when it comes from someone else.

Jessica Logue - Jed & I for our first Christmas together went out & bought eachother a Hallmark ornament that reminded us of eachother now after 8 years we still do this the day we set up our Christmas tree! And we love looking back as we hang up all the past years ornament & tell stories & memories of those times! Now our girls are in on it too & we get one for them that kind of shows how they were or what they were into or a special moment that happen during the year!

kellyhicks - we have one of those advent calendars that are open little doors so we leave little notes and candies in there for each other :)
