The drive down to the Newport peninsula is in full bloom! I’m not sure if the trees have been falsely alerted that it’s spring, but they look beautiful! Driving past the white and purple blossoms have lifted my spirits this rainy season. The first day of Spring on March 20th is fast approaching! In the meantime, I hope these little sunshine girls (from the wedding we shot last weekend) will put a smile on your face!

After hanging out with my newly married friend Marina, she inspired me to start cooking! Awhile back, Troy & I were walking the isles at Barnes and Nobles, and came across some Trader Joe’s cookbooks. Since then, we have heard nothing but good things about the books, so we decided to buy one. We may be a little behind on this new trend…but it has changed our lives this week! The other night I made my first home-made chicken pot pie – and we have been savoring the left overs! If you’re a new cook, you’ve got to give Trader Joe’s a try!
Wahoo! It’s craft time! After all of the busyness this last month, I made it out to one of my favorite stores – Paper Source! They have some really cute paper in right now! Here are my crafting treasures along with other paper materials I have collected over the years…I think it’s time to create a few more cards!

My paper scraps fit perfectly in my favorite leather suitcase.

Here are a few new stamps & paper cutters I found as well. Merci!

It has turned out to be quite the busy month! So sorry I haven’t been blogging as usual. We took a trip out to Omaha last week for a late wedding reception with Troy’s family, then busily began designing for the Utterly Engaged party, celebrated my Birthday on Friday & then traveled out to Palm Desert for a relaxing getaway! All of that to say, I am finally home & dreaming up my next projects!
Here are a few photos to catch you up on the lately!
I took some pictures with my new camera of Omaha’s wintry trees.
We shot engagement photos for an adorable couple in Omaha.
Fresh flowers & a new spring purse were given to me on my Birthday from Troy :)
We witnessed the calm after the storm in Newport Beach.

And then laughed so hard at my friend Billy’s take on the recent weather!!
We played and played in Pam Dessert with Ellie the comfort golden & her parents Lindye & Winn Galloway.
One of my best friends, Lindye Galloway Events asked me to design a table scape with her for the Utterly Engaged New Years party. Sixteen teams contested in the “modern” themed challenge. We decided on a modern glam theme & used industrial & paper materials to accomplish our look. We had a blast doing the challenge together & walked away feeling like our time & efforts paid off! A huge thank you to our amazing husbands Troy & Winn for their love and support! More photos to come after the February release of Utterly Engaged magazine.

On Wednesday, Troy & I had the opportunity to be models for the fabulous Jessica Claire workshop. One of my best friends, Lindye Galloway also joined the shoot as my bridesmaid! We had such a fun time, I just had to share a couple pictures with you! Be sure to check Jessica Claire’s blog in the upcoming weeks for all of the amazing details!

The same week that Troy & I played dress up as bride and groom – my sister Promise & her husband Brian did too! We must be related or something! Haha. Check out more photos by Stephanie Fay.

I think it’s time for a little Valentine cheer! I always feel so sad to see Christmas & all of the decorations disappear, so this year I’m gonna try to decorate for the holiday of love <3 Below are a few DIY projects I found that you may take up too!

Until I can decorate & try one of those fabulous DIY projects, I decided to create a little Valentine collage myself! Troy, get ready for your date!
Troy & I were chosen to be the models for the upcoming Jessica Claire & Lollipop Events workshop! We are so excited! How many girls get to wear a wedding dress twice for the same man!? Be sure to check out ilovelolliblog to read all the details!

This morning I decided to take on a DIY project – some much deserved Thank You cards for our wedding vendors!

Above: I crafted this card with paper card stock, two fun patterns, a hole punch, some string, some dried grass and a wooden bead. I added a special touch on the inside from our wedding invitations (designed by my sister Promise Tangeman), a cheery little red strawberry. I had the amazing Carissa from JL Designs in mind when putting this one together, as she did an INCREDIBLE job with our florals and decor for our big day.

Above: These two cards were also created on card stock & decorated with an assortment of things. I cut the red Strawberry our of our wedding invitation to send to Stacy Emmett at Strawberry Farms. I securd the strawberry & fun pattern with string running through two hole punches. The next card was created for Elysium Producitons a HUGE thank-you to them for such a fantastic job on our wedding video. I used two ribbons from gifts, a cut out from a wedding card, a fun patterned paper & some string.
I received the cutest little card in the mail from Anthropologie the other day. A Birthday discount coupon with a candle wish necklace. I was pretty excited when I opened it! Just had to share with all of you & wish any other January Birthdays out there a happy one!

I just got back from Seattle this week & am already a little homesick! Here are some pictures from my trip & a few of my favorite things to do when I’m home sweet home.
